How to use Check Factory with new model HP Printers. Laserjet 20xx, 30xx
series
Many late model HP printers produced in 2006 and later no longer include
PCL5 scaleable fonts that Check Factory utilizes for printing. Version
2.45.75 or above must be downloaded and installed for use with these
printers. The new version includes new fonts for the printer that are
uploaded automatically.
You must also change the driver for the Check Factory printer on
C:\LFECF000 to the native PCL5e driver for
that printer. Please follow the step by step instructions below:
1> Close Check Factory on all stations.
2> Download Update245.7x.exe and save to your CFACTORY folder on your server or
local PC. If you do not know where your CFACTORY folder is you may open the
properties of the shortcut used to run Check Factory and discover it there.
3> Navigate to the CFACTORY folder and run the Update245.75.exe to
install the new program and fonts.
4> Run Check Factory. Look for the version number on the title bar to
verify you are using 2.45.75 or above.
5> Select the Print Menu, Define/Align printer. Choose your new HP
Printer and perform the alignment routine.
6> Select the Print Menu, Test Destination printer. UNCHECK the box
"Use Scaleable Fonts". Click Print to Laser to print a test page. You will
see a line of large 24 point text. This verifies that your new printer is
now supported.
7> If you use Peachtree do not follow 7a. Continue to use the HP
Laserjet 4 driver for the Check Factory printer.
7a> Finally - Click the Windows Start button, Printers and Faxes. Locate
the Check Factory printer, right click, choose properties. Click the
Advanced Tab. In the Driver list box choose the native PCL5e driver for your
printer model. For example:
For the HP 2015 choose: HP LaserJet P2015 Series PCL 5e
For the HP 3005 choose: HP LaserJet P3005 PCL 5e
For the HP 3050 choose: HP LaserJet 3050 Series PCL 5e
Do not choose a PCL6 driver.
Solomon and Great Plains users may have to change the font type of the
Check Factory Trigger Codes in the modified reports or Crystal reports. The
font should be changed to COURIER. Do Not choose COURIER NEW. Please call
support if you have questions regarding font changes.
