Quick Books users -- you must add a special windows printer to print W2
forms through Check Factory
Printing W2 forms on blank paper through Check Factory requires adding
another windows printer. Using the Check Factory (Generic text only) driver may
result in misaligned forms.
Please follow the instructions below to install the Check FactoryW2 printer.
For experienced windows users:
Open Start, Settings, Printers.
Add a Local printer, select the HP Laserjet 4 driver, connect it to the port
C:\LFECF000. Name this printer Check Factory W2
In Quick Books go to Printer Setup, Choose W2 forms, change the printer to
Check Factory W2.
Detailed instructions:
Windows 9x:
Click on Start, Settings, Printers.
Click Add Printer.
Click Next
Choose Local Printer, Click Next
Choose HP from the manufacturer list,HP Laserjet 4 from the printer list,
Click Next
Choose C:\LFECF000 from the Ports list, Click Next
Type in Check Factory W2 for the printer name, click No, do not set as
default printer, Click Next
Click No, you do not want to print a test page, Click Finish.
In Quick Books go to Printer Setup, Choose W2 forms, change the printer to
Check Factory W2.
Windows 2000, XP
Click on Start, Settings, Printers.
Click Add Printer.
Click Next
Choose Local Printer, Click Next
Choose C:\LFECF000 from the Ports list, Click Next
Choose HP from the manufacturer list,HP Laserjet 4 from the printer list,
Click Next
If asked, keep the existing driver, click next
Type in Check Factory W2 for the printer name, click No, do not set as
default printer, Click Next
Do not share the printer, click Next
Click No, you do not want to print a test page, click Next, Click Finish.
In Quick Books go to Printer Setup, Choose W2 forms, change the printer to
Check Factory W2.
