Read Registration Data Error. Access denied.

Check Factory requires users to have Full Control rights in the CFACTORY folder and all folders below.

When running large print jobs I get an Overflow Error

A Check Factory counter variable was sized incorrectly. This issue was fixed 1/15/2009. Please download and install Update245.7x.exe

I am switching to a new server. How do I move Check Factory from one sever to another?

Simply copy the CFACTORY folder and all folders below it to the new server. Make sure you copy hidden files. If the stations see the new server with the same mapped drive letter path then that is all you have to do. If the path has changed just navigate to CFACTORY via the new mapped drive letter and run WSSETUP.EXE. Do this on each workstation.

When I print a check or form, Check Factory does not come up

Does anything come out at the printer?

If so then you have not chosen the Check Factory printer connected to C:\LFECF000

You must choose this printer inside your accounting software whenever you are going to print via Check Factory. Since your print job came out of the printer, it tells us that you selected a Windows printer connected to the physical printer, not Check Factory.

Nothing comes out of printer.

If nothing comes out of the printer.

The Check Factory program is probably not running and minimized.

If it is running, bring up Check Factory, click on settings. Verify that the Source Printer is C:\LFECF000 .

Next click on the Start Button, Settings, Printers. Bring up the properties of the Check Factory printer. Click on Details. Print to the Following port should be the same as the Source Printer above, C:\LFECF000.

When I Start Check Factory the system freezes or takes forever to load

You probably have Norton Anti Virus Corporate Edition running. 

Disable it on the station and Check Factory will load quickly.

In NAV bring up the Realtime Protection Screen and click OFF the network drive that contains the Check Factory data files.

When Check Factory is running my system seems to slow down

Click on Settings. Make sure that the Loop Event box is unchecked.

I have records in Check Factory but I can't see them

Many strange file related problems in Check Factory can be traced to corrupted Check Factory index files.

To rebuild Check Factory indexes:

Make sure ALL users at ALL workstations have closed the Check Factory program.

Open Windows Explorer, change to the CFACTORY folder on the server.

Delete all files with a CDX extension. You may have to change the Explorer View settings to see the file extensions.

Restart Check Factory to rebuild the indexes.

How do I install additional work stations?

From each workstation, run the WSSETUP.EXE program located in the CFACTORY folder on the server.

Install the Check Factory printer as described in the Software Setup Guide or User Guide.

NOTE:

Check Factory and its' Setup programs do not understand UNC path names. You MUST run Check Factory, SETUP.EXE and WSSETUP.EXE from a mapped drive letter.

I get an "Illegal Function Call" message when I try to start Check Factory and the program terminates.

This usually happens when you install or run Check Factory using UNC path names instead of a mapped drive.

Reinstall using a mapped drive letter OR change your Start Menu shortcut to use a mapped drive letter.

"No Check Factory Compatible Printers Found" message is displayed when Check Factory starts

Download the latest LFEWIN2.EXE and save it to your CFACTORY folder. All printers will now be visible to Check Factory.

I have a printer out there but I still can't see it in Check Factory...

This printer has the words Check Factory in the name. Check Factory is reserved for the printer that prints to port: C:\LFECF000 -- ONLY!
